Multi-day tour: Your via ferrata adventure Ramsau am Dachstein: Discover the climbing Eldorado - from the Dachstein Super Ferrata to hidden classics.
The Schladming-Dachstein region is one of the most spectacular via ferrata destinations in the Alps. Between the imposing south face of the Dachstein and the impressive high plateaus, you will find a variety of via ferrata routes of all levels of difficulty - from enjoyable beginner routes to airy challenges for experienced alpinists. If you want to experience this mountain world in all its diversity, combine the most beautiful via ferratas into a multi-day tour - accompanied by a state-certified mountain guide from our region.
Because one thing is certain: some stages are not for solo hikers. Those who are well advised along the way not only enjoy more safety, but also the serenity of being able to concentrate on the essentials: walking, being amazed and arriving in the mountain world.
📆Day 1: Arrival & access to the Dachstein World
- Arrival by train to Schladming
- Continue by bus to the Dachstein Gletscherbahn valley station
- Ascent to the Südwandhütte (1,910 m)
- Overnight stay at the Südwandhütte
The tour gets off to a relaxed start - ideal for initial acclimatization. The path to the Südwandhütte already offers an impressive panorama of the famous Dachstein south face. If you are early, you can add a short via ferrata to get in the mood (e.g. one of the via ferrata routes on the Sattelberg).
🗓️Tag 2: Anna and Johann via ferrata - high alpine terrain
- Approach to the Anna via ferrata (C/D) and transition to the Johann via ferrata (D/E)
- Destination: Seethalerhütte (2,740 m)
- Overnight stay Seethalerhütte
This day is technically and physically demanding. The Johann via ferrata is one of the most beautiful, but also more challenging climbs in the region - the upper section in particular requires alpine experience, surefootedness and a head for heights. A mountain guide is highly recommended here, especially in uncertain weather conditions or when there is residual snow.
🗓️Tag 3: Sunrise on the Dachstein & alpine crossing
- Early departure for the Dachstein ascent via the Schulter via ferrata (A/B)
- Descent via the Gjaidsteinsattel
- Optional: Ramsau via ferrata (C)
- Arrival at the Guttenberghaus (2,146 m)
- Overnight stay Guttenberghaus
A day for early risers and connoisseurs: in good weather, the summit of the Dachstein (2,995 m) offers a spectacular sunrise. The long descent to the Guttenberghaus includes the exposed Ramsau via ferrata. This route is only recommended for experienced mountaineers - or as part of a guided tour with a local professional.
🗓️Tag 4: Sinabell, Silberkar & Rosina/Hias/Siega - the final
- Ascent of the Sinabell via ferrata (C) or Eselstein Westgrat (B/C)
- Descent via the Königsetappe to Silberkar
- Optional: short detour to via ferrata Rosina (D), via ferrata Hias (C/D) or via ferrata Siega (C/D)
- Hike along the Silberkar high trail to the Alte Mühle mill
- Bus ride to Ramsau village
- Overnight stay in Ramsau
A last day full of variety: the Sinabell offers a scenic ridge climb with views as far as the Dachstein. If you still have some energy left, you can let off steam on the Rosina, Hias or Siega via ferrata - one of the most sporty short via ferrata routes in the region. The trail leads back to civilization via the Silberkar high trail and through the Silberkar gorge.
🗓️Tag 5: Journey home
After a final breakfast in Ramsau, we take the bus back to Schladming - and then the train home.
This 5-day via ferrata tour is more than just a sporting adventure - it is a journey through the most spectacular mountain ranges in the Schladming-Dachstein region. Those who take on the challenge will be rewarded with magnificent views, unforgettable moments and a deep connection to the alpine world. With a mountain guide at your side, the tour is not only safer, but also a more intense experience.
