Climbing and via ferrata
On the Dachstein, 14 varied via ferratas and well-maintained climbing tours await you - a real paradise for climbing enthusiasts. However, the impressive mountain massif at 2,700 meters above sea level also presents special challenges: due to its altitude and isolated location, special weather conditions prevail on the Dachstein massif. The weather can change dramatically in a matter of minutes, and these weather changes should not be underestimated.
Important tips for your tour:
- Plan your route carefully and inform yourself about current conditions
- Wear weatherproof clothing and take the right equipment with you
- Beware of thunderstorms: lightning can be life-threatening on via ferratas!
- Crampons, ice axe and rope are essential for glacier ascents
- You should only set off with mountaineering experience, the right belaying technique and complete equipment
Tip: For tour information, times and levels of difficulty, contact the local tourist or mountain guide offices in good time - they will help you to plan safely.
