The Galsterberg
Small, fine and full of experiences:
When the Galsterberg shows its quiet, sunny side in summer, it's the perfect moment for anyone who wants to enjoy nature, take a deep breath and recharge their batteries.
Here you can experience a true summer idyll:
- leisurely alpine hikes through blooming mountain landscapes
- Observe the marmots in their natural habitat
- Moments of peace and quiet far away from everyday life
The Galsterberg is a special place for connoisseurs, families and nature lovers - ideal for experiencing summer in Schladming-Dachstein at its best.
Marmots
A special attraction on the Galsterberg are the marmots, which clearly feel at home here.
They were introduced to the mountain pasture in 2013 and have their cozy dens very close to the hut. You can often watch them sunbathing or playing from the terrace - a real highlight for guests of all ages.
Please note: Marmots avoid high temperatures and often retreat into their burrows at midday on hot summer days. So don't be disappointed if they are less visible during the midday heat.
Important: Our marmots are wild animals and their behavior can be unpredictable. Always approach them carefully and with caution - and please do not bring a dog!
