Road and path closures
Schladming
The upper Talbachweg is closed until further notice due to a rockfall.
Unfortunately, the reason for the closure of the path is not obvious, as it is not related to the condition of the actual path itself. An unstable slope above the path on the north-facing embankment of the Karbach is the reason for the closure.
This has already been assessed by a geologist. However, this analysis did not reveal any acceptable risk for a reopening. The situation is therefore problematic, especially as the area endangering the path cannot be seen from the hiking trail.
The Talbachklamm gorge will be closed from 10.11. to probably 14.11.2025 due to canal inspections and cleaning work.
The Ursprungalm toll road is temporarily closed from Spraderbach!
Due to major renovation and extension work at the existing guest house Pichl-Audorf 121 (currently the Karin Tritscher apartments), we have to close off the narrow footpath on the north side so as not to endanger passers-by.
A bypass is possible via the access road to Haus Moosbrugger (Pichl-Audorf 48).
Construction period from the end of October 2025 to September 2026.
Due to logging work, the Tauernblickrunde must be closed from Waldstraße (from Tattoostudio André Zechmann) to Kerschbaumerhof.

The Ennswegerl is closed between the end of the Rechte-Ennsau path and the congress/Falkensteiner path connection due to excavation work. A detour is possible via the hiking trail at Falkensteiner and the congress/Falkensteiner path.
The closure is expected to last until mid-November.
In order to secure the drinking water supply in Rohrmoos for the future, the Rohrmoos water cooperative is renewing the "Waldquelle drinking water drain" from the Untertalstraße/Obertalstraße junction to Mosergasse in Rohrmoos. There may be short-term restrictions on road traffic.
Construction will start at the beginning of April and the work is expected to last until the end of October.
Due to timber work, the section of trail over the Aberg is currently closed. A detour is possible via hiking trail no. 11 and 615.
From Monday, April 14, 2025, the sidewalk along the L723 Untertalstraße, in the area from Rohrmoos Südweg to the Ahornweg junction, will be closed due to excavation work.
Below is a map of the closed area and a detour route for hikers via Knappenweg. The route will be marked with detour signs.
From August 4 to December 5, 2025, renovation work will be carried out on the L223 between Gleiming and Forstau.
The road is completely closed from Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 17:30 (access to Draxler possible), outside these times it is freely accessible. A bypass is only possible via Radstadt.
Ramsau am Dachstein
Attention! Current status via ferrata Dachstein summit
Shoulder ascent: Glacier equipment is necessary! ATTENTION Danger! Due to the strong retreat of the glacier, the transition from snow to rock is heavily undercut. The via ferrata can only be reached with climbing experience and appropriate equipment!
Randkluft ascent: ATTENTION: There are crevasses on the glacier that are not clearly visible (danger of falling through crevasses). Glacier equipment and appropriate experience.

The Silberkarklamm gorge is officially closed from October 15 until spring 2026. The same applies to the via ferratas Hias, Rosina & Siega.
House-Aich
The Lehenbrücke will be rebuilt from 01.09.2025 due to a necessary renovation. It is scheduled to be opened to traffic on 17.12.2025.
During the construction period, the bridge will be completely closed and impassable. We ask for your understanding.
Cyclists - detour via the Birnberg
- Coming from Haus: Under the B320, past the golf course and then up to the Birnberg.
- Coming from Schladming: in the opposite direction.
There will be special detour signs and an overview map along the route, making it easy to follow the changed route.
Pedestrian routing
- Bioenergie Schladming (south of the Enns): As there is no alternative crossing, it is recommended to take the same route back.
- Athletic Area Schladming (north of the Enns): Here, too, the recommendation is to take the same route back.
For better orientation, an overview map for pedestrians is also provided on site.
Due to the storms of the past few days, the section of the waterwheel path at the Kneipp facility in Weißenbach is closed.
The path at the Kneipp facility itself is passable, as is the forest path towards Gradenbach.
The MTB route between Bodensee and Gumpental is closed from 16.10.2025 due to timber work. Detour via normal road possible.
Gröbminger Land
The Saurücken Runde is closed from the Spitalgraben due to ash dieback until further notice. Attention: There is a danger to life! There is a detour via Bahnhofstraße. In the right-hand bend, turn left to houses 349/308/300 and then into Spitalsgraben.
Sölktäler Nature Park
Due to the weather, the Sölkpass is closed until further notice! It is possible to drive from Stein/Enns to St. Nikolai.
Hiking signage is in season
The yellow hiking trail signs are generally only valid in summer or when there is no snow. Exceptions are direction signs with the "Winter Walking" icon. Otherwise, winter trails have their own - in most cases magenta - signage.
General winter closures
Some roads are generally closed for the winter
Thereis a winter closure on the Untertalstraße from Gasthaus Weisse Wand from November 1 to April 30. The Alpinsteig Höllis also closed during the winter.
A winter road closure applies in the Obertal from Hopfriesen from November 1st to April 30th.
In the Sattental, a winter closure applies from the Grießbachgraben between November 1 and May 1.
