Daisies, dandelions and primroses are already stretching their heads towards the sun and bathing the meadows in the Schladming-Dachstein region in a colorful sea of flowers. Nature has awoken from its winter slumber at the foot of the Dachstein. In this blog post, we reveal 4 activities that you shouldn't miss at this time of year, especially in Ramsau am Dachstein:

1) Celebrate the first summit victory of the hiking season

The last of the snow is slowly melting on the mountain peaks. In the valley, flowers are sprouting, temperatures are rising and birds are chirping happily. Who else is longing for a hike and the first summit victory of the new hiking season?

Have you ever enjoyed the view from the Rittisberg summit cross? A magnificent panorama awaits you there, from the impressive Dachstein massif to the Schladminger Tauern. If you want to take a sporty approach, the best way to reach the summit is via the fairytale trail. If you prefer a more leisurely start to the hiking season, you can also take the cable car to cover the first few meters of altitude from mid-May.

2) Experience the Spring Festival of Horses up close

Lovingly arranged flower figures, magnificently decorated horse-drawn carriages and lots of traditional costumes and traditions await you at the annual Spring Festival of Horses. The highlight of the two-day event is the festive parade through the village. A must-see event in spring in Ramsau am Dachstein!

3) Hike over the Brandriedl to the Dachsteinkircherl

No matter what time of year, the Brandriedl with views of the impressive Dachstein triumvirate is always worth a visit. This circular hike is an ideal introduction to the hiking season. Starting from the hiking parking lot at Gasthaus Edelbrunn, the Roseggersteig trail leads you to the Brandriedl. Who wouldn't want to take a seat here and enjoy the spring awakening? On the way back, we also recommend a detour to the Dachsteinkircherl.
