Backstreet's back - in Schladming

Together with the Leutgeb Entertainment Group, Schladming-Dachstein and the 4-mountain ski area Schladming (Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm) are once again bringing an absolute crowd-puller to the Alps for the start of winter 2025. Once again, the Planai Stadium will become a hotspot for the international music scene and a meeting place for thousands of fans of all generations. The Backstreet Boys join a series of international superstars performing in Schladming: After the brilliant shows with Robbie Williams in 2023 and the huge success with Bryan Adams, Simply Red and Sting last year, it is now time to celebrate the era of boy bands.

Only European concert

The anticipation for the concert with the Backstreet Boys is huge. After all, the performance at the Schladming-Dachstein 2025 ski opening is the only European concert announced by the cult band to date. The Backstreet Boys can currently only be seen at "The Sphere" in Las Vegas - a unique opportunity for European fans to experience their boys live. With more than 130 million records sold, the Backstreet Boys are one of the most successful pop groups in music history. Their hits such as "Everybody", "I Want It That Way" and "As Long As You Love Me" have shaped generations - and are sure to get the entire Planai Stadium singing along and celebrating on December 6, 2025.

Big performance, big stage

Once again this year, the excellent cooperation between all those involved will guarantee success. The entire Schladming-Dachstein tourism region and the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area with the Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm mountains are collectively behind this mega event. The top event was officially announced at today's (4.7.) press conference - with representatives from the region, an excited Backstreet Boys video player and lots of enthusiasm. Organizer Klaus Leutgeb announced a state-of-the-art stage show with spectacular technology, LED elements and a unique winter atmosphere: "Schladming will become a pop stage with international appeal on 6 December - it will be an evening to remember."

Anticipation in video message: "We are so excited"

The Backstreet Boys have personally contacted their fans via video message and shared their excitement for the concert in Schladming: "Hey Austria! We are the Backstreet Boys - and even though we are currently in rehearsals for our massive shows coming up at Las Vegas Sphere, we have a little somethin' special to tell you. We are so excited, because we are going to be coming to your beautiful city of Schladming and performing at the Ski-Opening on December 6th. See you guys there!"

Three new mountain railroads for the region

In Schladming-Dachstein, winter sports fans can look forward to several attractive innovations in the 2025/26 season - including three new mountain lifts. On the Schladming 4-mountain ski circuit, the "swinging" between Hauser Kaibling and Planai will be even faster and more comfortable in future: on Hauser Kaibling, a modern 10-seater gondola lift will replace the previous Senderbahn and on the Planai, the new 8-seater chairlift "Mitterhausalm I" will replace the Sonneck 4-seater chairlift.

Major investments are also being made on the Reiteralm, the second ski mountain Fageralm: A new 8-seater gondola lift replaces two double chairlifts and raises the skiing experience on the family mountain to a new level. As part of Ski amadé, the Schladming-Dachstein region offers ideal conditions for unforgettable skiing fun on 9 ski mountains with a total of 230 kilometers of pistes. The heart of the region is the Schladming 4-mountain ski area with 123 kilometers of connected pistes on the Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm mountains.
