Great success for Austrian golf: Tyrolean Maximilian Steinlechner wins the Interwetten Open 2025 at GC Schladming-Dachstein - the second largest tournament in the country as part of the international hotelplanner tour.

On the final day of the four-day tournament, excitement, thrills and impressive top-class sport ensured enthusiasm at the foot of the Dachstein. The finalists teed off early in the morning on the perfectly prepared course at GC Schladming-Dachstein - a measure taken to avoid possible thunderstorms. The decision proved to be spot on: the final could be played without interruption.

The 25-year-old Maximilian Steinlechner from Innsbruck went into the final round with a narrow lead and confidently held his own against strong international competition - including the Italian Filippo Celli, the South Africans JC Ritchie and Jovan Rebula and the Frenchman Oihan Guillamoundeguy. With a final score of 21 under par, Steinlechner came out on top of the field and celebrated the biggest success of his career to date. It was the first Austrian victory on the European Challenge Tour since 2017.

In addition to 48,000 euros in prize money, Steinlechner also secured a starting place at the Austrian Alpine Open 2026 powered by Kitzbühel Tirol, which is part of the prestigious DP World Tour. With his triumph, the Tyrolean moved up to third place in the "Road to Mallorca" rankings - an excellent starting position for his future professional career.

Lukas Nemecz from Styria also put down a strong marker: With a flawless final round including six birdies, the man from Graz finished in an excellent 7th placewith -16 strokes. The young local golf pros Florian Schweighofer (-11, 37th place) and Christoph Bleier (-9, 49th place), who gained important tour experience, were also satisfied. Amateur Lukas Boandl finished in 61st place (-5), but can also look back positively on his performance.
