Steirer XC Trail Vorberg
Tour description
A trail for early risers - enjoy sunrises on the Pichler Vorberg with a view of the Schladmings ski mountains. You can stop for a refreshment at the "Jausenplatzl" of Astlhof farm. Different entry points are possible:
- Hiking portal & parking lot Arnika, Pichl-Vorberg
- Hiking portal Steirerhof, Pichl-Vorberg
- Greimelbacherhof, Ramsau am Dachstein

The trail runs along the following junctions:
Greimelbacher - Moosegghäusl - Greimelbacher
The starting point of the Styrian XC Run (skating & classic) is located at the hiking trail head Vorberg-Arnika (next to Pension Arnika). The start of the run is on the right side of the road. The run takes you over a loop across the meadow close to hotel Steirerhof. Another loop in the shape of an "8" near the Oberhorner and Unterhorner farms takes you past the starting point to the other side of the road. After a short section through the forest you now can choose whether to finish on Styrian XC Run or continue on the Halser XC Run.
From the west:
Take the A10 to Knoten Ennstal - take the exit towards Graz/Schladming. Drive along the Ennstal-Bundesstraße for approx. 20 km until you reach Pichl. Take the turn-off in Pichl and continue on Vorbergstraße road towards Pichl-Vorberg. Pass by Hotel Steirerhof and keep on going to the hiking trail head at Pension Arnika.
From the north:
Take the Pyhrnautobahn direction Liezen. Then follow the Ennstalbundesstraße past Schladming to Pichl and continue on Vorbergstraße road towards Pichl-Vorberg. Pass by Hotel Steirerhof and keep on going to the hiking trail head at Pension Arnika.
Parking the trail head near Pension Arnika (public) and at Hotel Steirerhof (parking spaces are subject to availability).The starting point can be reached with the ski bus - bus stop "Pension Arnika".
