On top of 123 kilometers of ski slopes, Schladming's 4 mountain ski area also offers one of the longest toboggan runs in the Alps. The almost 7 km long toboggan run is open daily during cable-car operating times. The Hochwurzen toboggan run is among the most attractive and well-groomed runs in Austria.

The following opening hours apply to the evening operation on the Hochwurzen:

Evening operation of the Hochwurzen Gipfelbahn

from 25 December 2023 to 6 January 2024: MO - SA from 07:00 p.m. to 09:30 p.m.
from 9 January to 15 March 2024: DI - SA from 07:00 p.m. to 09:30 p.m.
from 20 March to 30 March 2024: MI - SA from 07:00 p.m. to 09:30 p.m.

Last ascent or descent Hochwurzen Gipfelbahn: 09:30 p.m.

Piste opening hours (lighting of the night piste and toboggan run) from 07:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen cable-car takes tobogganists up to the summit of Hochwurzen. From there the track takes you back to the valley terminal The cable car offers enough space in its pods to transport the sleds, which can be rented close by the valley terminal. The starting point of the sled run is located directly on the Hochwurzen summit.Sledding is a unique, romantic pleasure on two runners in the middle of nature and winter. Stopping off for food is part of it – and you won’t miss out on Hochwurzen. The lodges are well distributed between the starting and finishing points of the sled run and offer enough space even for large groups!

The toboggan run starts at Hochwurzenhütte chalet and runs down along the Hochwurzenstraße road (in winter closed for the toboggan run) to the valley terminal of the Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen cable-car.

From Schladming into the direction of Rohrmoos, at the roundabout Rohrmoos straight ahead to the Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen cable-car.Parking is available at the Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen cable-car.

With the Planai buses from Schladming to Rohrmoos and Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen cable-car.

In the evenings the "Nightline" (until 1 am) runs between Schladming and the Hochwurzen cable-car. ATTENTION: a skipass valid during the day, is NOT valid for the use of buses in the evening!
